Funding Priorities, Funding Cycles & Grantee Selection Criteria

The Alice and Eugene Ford Foundation deploys funds in accordance with our mission, vision, and values and invests in a highly-integrated set of resources and activities that touch multiple generations of residents in our communities.

Grant applications are reviewed twice per year, and are due on January 10th or May 10th. Grant requests submitted outside these windows will be reviewed at the next application due date. To be an eligible grantee partner of the Alice and Eugene Ford Foundation, organizations must:

  • Currently hold 501(c)(3) status

  • Apply grant funding to achieving outcomes in and around the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland Regions

  • Agree to provide standard annual reporting on grant utilization and organizational health

  • Achieve measurable impact for individuals and families within one of the Foundation’s focus areas:

    • Education and Skills Building: Access to college scholarships, after-school programs, vocational training, and tutoring

    • Workforce: Career coaching and resume building

    • Health: Mental health, trauma-informed case management, and access to social workers

    • Quality of Life: Food security and culturally-enriching experiences
